NEW BEGINNINGS

via Daily Prompt: Restart

I reached a point where I needed a new slate to start a whole new life. Funny enough, I’ve always heard of people refreshing and re-branding their lives but I never thought I would be one of them. I felt like an old eagle that needed to pluck its old wings and get new wings. My current life was stale and it was about time I injected new fun ideas. I needed to turn the old pages and start a whole new chapter of life.

The end of an era was first approaching but all that meant is that time for a new one was very close. I had lived a life where all I did is follow the societal expectations set out for me. I never for once thought of straying from the usual path which was really what I wanted. I yearned for more and better but I knew that nobody would ever really understand what I was going through. It was time to be brave like a lion and step out to take my crown. Nothing was going to hold me back this time because I deserved heaven and not hell.

My old story was on the death-bed while my new one was about to be born. The fear of rejection and segregation had kept me in check for years but now I was breaking the chains of society and finally living my truth. In this world people will work hard to hold you back but you have to learn to fight for yourself. Most just envy that you have the guts to say or pursue what they can not go for. Even in the Bible, people laughed at Noah as he was creating the ark because they thought he was crazy when he told them God had told him that a flood was about to come. They ended up perishing in the flood while Noah and his family lived. Thus, being unique and different is not a bad thing, it is actually a great thing. Don’t be afraid to restart because not all opportunities come by frequently.

There will always be sunshine at the dawn of a new day so don’t give up. Dreams do come true and second chances offer a window to pursue them. I’m on a restart mission as I embrace change because for something new to come in, you have to let go of some of the old things. I can see the embers of a rainbow at the horizon and I can definitely feel my storm will be over soon. Please don’t judge me; my story is still being written and one day I’m going to tell it to the world

Remember;

For everything you have missed, you have gained something else; And for everything you gain, you lose something else. It is about your outlook towards life. You can either regret or rejoice.
