TEARS OF DESPAIR

I looked at you and I saw sunshine glimmering right at me,

I looked at me and all I saw were cracks,

I stared more closely and finally saw the shell I had become,

I wasted so much time pleasing you and the world that I forgot myself.

You blamed me for every problem we encountered and I accepted to carry it,

I was burdened with the weight of us but my tears did not deter your zeal to shred me alive,

Days passed me by and all I could see were the scars you inflicted on me.

Because you glare, I never saw the tainting,

Because you glitter, I never saw the rough edges,

Because you shine, I never saw the shadows.

You took everything good in me and left me in shambles.

The belief of love I had ended with you.

YOU ARE EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG IN THE GAME OF LOVE.

Thank you for introducing me to wolves in sheep clothing,

Thank you for peeling off your mask,

Thank you for scraping off my naivety,

Thank you for scouring at my aching heart,

Thank you for making me learn there is nothing like true love.

Because of you, I now grew wings to fly over my problems,

Because of you, I build pillars to support me in my crumble,

Because of you, I doubt anyone that shows interest in me,

Because of you, I see only devils and never angels,

Because of you, I’m blue,

Because of you, my sky is grey,

Because of you, I slither in dark holes like a snake,

Because of you, my perfections have become imperfect.

Remember;

Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it is better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.
