I AM A DREAMER

I looked up and all I could see were floating bubbles,

I tried to reach out to them but they were too far,

I tried to jump but nothing could propel me high enough,

I tried to fly but the galaxy was further than I thought,

May be it was just a dream…

I saw birds sore up high and then back down but I could not get close to them,

I saw ships traverse the ocean but I could not get on one,

I saw vehicles skid across the road, but I could not get away first enough,

I saw myself falling off a cliff but no tree could break my dive,

May be it was just a dream…

The stars twinkled bright but the night seemed still dark,

The sun rose but the looming grey clouds didn’t seem to go away,

The rain fell but the famine was not ending,

The winds blew but the clothes still dripped water,

May be it was just a dream…

Fire was burning but the grass was still intact,

The snow was falling but the food was still going bad,

The rainbow was out but the floods were washing away homes,

The microphone was on but the speaker could not be heard,

May be it was just a dream…

The morning dew must have disappeared because it was no longer present yet the mooing cows could be heard.
