ECHOES OF DEPRESSION

Why Do You Sometimes Feel Empty Even When You’re Surrounded by People???

Because You’re Not Really There Anymore…

You Laugh at Jokes,

You Answer When People Talk to You,

You Pretend…

But Inside…

There’s Nothing Left but An Echo of Yourself

Your Mind Drifts Elsewhere,

While Your Body Keeps Repeating the Motions of Daily Life Without Feeling a Thing,

You Know Most Times…

People Think Depression Is Loud,

People Think Depression Is Extreme Silence,

People Think Depression Is Isolation,

People Think Depression Is Withering Away Suddenly,

People Think Depression Is Falling Apart,

People Think Depression Is Not Showing Up for Others,

People Think Depression Is Visible,

People Think Depression Is Staying in Bed All Day

But Sometimes Depression…

It’s Brushing Your Teeth with Tears in Your Eyes,

Making Small Talk with A Breaking Voice,

Folding Laundry While Your Heart Begs for Rest,

Letting The Dishes Pile Up While You Lay Under Heavy Blankets,

Scrolling Past Invites with a Drowning Pain,

It’s Eating Dinner Surrounded by People…

But Feel Like No One Would Notice If You Weren’t There,

It’s Waking Up Tired and Smiling So They Don’t Ask Questions,

It’s Living a Normal Day in A Body That Feels Like It’s Barely Surviving,

It’s Waiting for The Day to End Before It Even Begins

No One Sees It…

But You Keep Going Anyway

That’s A Kind of Strength Most Will Never Understand.

And Deep Down…

You’re Not Really Waiting for Tomorrow…

Just For the Day Everything Finally Stops

Remember;

The Right People Don’t Run When You Break, They Sit Beside Your Mess and Remind You of Your Strength.
