ELASTIC HEART

Make No Mistake,

I Did Love You…

Your Touch Dried Stained Tears Invisible to the Naked Eye,

Your Lingering Scent Quelled My Coldness, Sharp Like Frosted Pine,

Your Smile Shone My World Like Fireflies Beaming with Youth That Heightened Even the Dullest of Creeks.

Now My Vision Is Blurry Like Cold Mist

The Constant Rain inside Me Floods Emotions into a Monsoon of the Unknown

I Feel the Void in My Heart with Every Breathe I Take

Your Silence Seeped into My Shell and Broke the Last Tether of Our Once Beautiful Story.

I Find Myself Fiddling with My Fingers to Distract My Feelings from Overwhelming Me

You Did Shatter Me…

I keep Praising an Image I Pray to Be,

I’m Fading Away,

Down in the Dumps,

Craving for The Memories That Made Me Feel Invincible,

Because the Tears Speak the Words My Heart Can’t,

The Silent Pain Making Me Blue.

I Have Thick Skin,

But Your Blade Was Too Sharp…

I Was Like a Rubber Band but You Pulled Too Hard,

And Crushed My Elastic Heart,

It Was then that Reality Dawned on Me…

Summer Was Finally Over,

And It Was Time for Sand Castles to Fold into The Sea.

The Tears I Shed Appear Like Rainfall Spilling Over Like Waterfalls…

As They Drown the Bottomless Ocean.

You Captivated My Mind,

But You Left Me Quivering in a Dark Pit of Confusion

I try Not to Cry When the Sun Is Gone,

Because the Tears Won’t Let Me See the Stars

And Another One Bites the Dust…

Why Can I not Conquer Love???

I Thought That We Were One,

So, I Wanted to Fight This War Without Weapons…

But There Were So Many Red Flags.

I Hoped You Would Be My Last,

But You Changed Very Fast.

Remember;

Letting Go Means to Come to the Realization That Some People Are Part of Your History but Not Part of Your Destiny.
